What is the Gate.io referral code?
A Gate.io referral code is a short invite code that links a new account to the person who shared it. Ours is LAVALAVA, eight capital letters. You enter it once, while you create your account, and Gate then records our Gate account as your referrer.
Gate.io and Gate are the same exchange, which moved to the gate.com domain in May 2025 (Gate announcement, May 2025). Is Gate.io a Chinese company? The Gate pages we checked don’t give it a nationality, and Mainland China is on its list of Restricted Locations.
USDT is Tether, a stablecoin, which is a coin designed to stay at 1 US dollar. A voucher is a credit Gate gives you for a set use, such as paying back part of your trading fees.
What the code does and doesn’t do, based on Gate’s own rules:
- We earn a commission. Gate pays referrers part of their friends’ trading fees through Super Commission or its Affiliate Program. Super Commission pays up to 40% for one year (Gate Super Commission rules, checked 1 October 2026). It comes out of fees you pay anyway.
- No promised fee rebate. LAVALAVA doesn’t change Gate’s fee rates, and we don’t promise any rebate.
- The Welcome Package isn’t from the code. It is Gate’s own new-user program.

Referral code, invitation code, promo code and voucher code compared
On Gate, referral code and invitation code mean the same thing: the code you enter once at sign-up. “Promo code” is usually the same code under another name. Vouchers are different, because they are rewards Gate credits to your account.

Gate pays event rewards into your Vouchers (Gate referral rules, checked 1 October 2026). We found no Gate page that asks for a voucher code at sign-up.
How do you use Gate referral code LAVALAVA when you sign up?
Enter LAVALAVA in the referral code box before you create the account, or open our sign-up link, which carries it. Only step 5 involves the code.
- Check your country. Gate’s global platform doesn’t serve the Restricted Locations in the table further down.
- Use the official site or app. Type gate.com yourself, or get the app from gate.com or an official store (Gate app guide, September 2021).
- Choose your country or region of residence. Gate’s sign-up page asks for it first (checked 1 October 2026). Pick where you really live.
- Sign up with an email address or a mobile number, and set a strong password (Gate registration guide, September 2021).
- Add the code. If the form shows a referral code box, type LAVALAVA. Our Gate sign-up link carries the code, and the sign-up page shows our Gate account’s nickname as the inviter.
- Verify and secure the account. Complete identity and face verification, and turn on 2FA before your first deposit.
KYC (Know Your Customer) is the identity check exchanges run before you can move money. Gate requires it before you deposit crypto, withdraw or trade with fiat money such as dollars (Gate KYC guide, April 2020). 2FA (two-factor authentication) asks for a second code from your phone when you log in or withdraw.
Through our link, Gate’s page says “Register now to receive a gift from your friend”. That is Gate’s standard invite text, and its event rules decide who gets a gift. We have not confirmed that a LAVALAVA sign-up gets any gift.

What do you actually get with a Gate referral code?
From the code itself, nothing we can promise. Gate’s invite events can reward invited friends under each event’s rules. We haven’t yet confirmed whether LAVALAVA is a regular referral code or a Gate Affiliate code, meaning a partner’s code from Gate’s separate Affiliate Program. If it is an Affiliate code, Gate’s invite events pay nothing on it, so plan as if they don’t.
Gate’s referral page listed these options on 1 October 2026. A fourth one, Token Crew, advertises a shared prize pool, and we haven’t checked its current rules.

Rules that apply to the invited friend:
- Affiliates are excluded. Gate doesn’t pay these event rewards if the inviter or the invited friend is a Gate Affiliate.
- No stacking. Event rewards can’t be combined with referral commission or other referral events.
- Excluded regions. Residents of Belgium, the UK, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Turkey, Austria, South Korea and other restricted regions can’t take part.
- Valid deposits only. On-chain deposits (crypto sent over a blockchain), fiat deposits, P2P trades and crypto bought by bank card or third-party payment count. Debit and credit card deposits don’t, including Google Pay, Apple Pay, SEPA, PIX and Bank Transfer. Internal transfers such as GateCode, and Gift Coins, don’t count either. Gate’s wording overlaps here, so if a reward matters to you, use an on-chain deposit, which its rules clearly count.
P2P means buying crypto from another user with local money, while Gate holds the coins in escrow.
Some event rewards are futures bonuses. Futures let you bet on a price going up or down without owning the coin, usually with leverage, meaning borrowed money. A small price move can trigger liquidation: the exchange closes your position and that money is gone. Don’t trade futures just to earn a reward.
If you only want an account, LAVALAVA supports this site and adds nothing to your fees. If an event reward matters to you, read that event’s rules before you sign up, and do not count on LAVALAVA qualifying.
Gate welcome bonus: how the 135 USDT Welcome Package works
Gate’s welcome bonus is the Welcome Package: up to 135 USDT in vouchers for five beginner tasks (Gate Rewards Hub, checked 1 October 2026). You have 15 days from sign-up. It is Gate’s own program, and its rules don’t mention a referral code. Gate’s plain sign-up page, opened with no code, shows the same package (Gate sign-up page, checked 1 October 2026).

These are vouchers, not cash, and the Gate pages we checked don’t say they can be withdrawn. A November 2024 Gate FAQ says a qualifying deposit or trade earns a trading fee rebate voucher (Rewards Hub FAQ, November 2024). You don’t need futures here: the trade task accepts a spot trade, which means buying or selling a coin outright.
These rules decide what you keep:
- 15 days, claimed by hand. Claim each beginner reward yourself in the Rewards Hub. The November 2024 FAQ says claimed rewards arrive within 3 business days.
- Once per person. Each user can complete the beginner tasks once. If you close an account and sign up again, you don’t count as new.
- Retail accounts only. Sub-accounts (secondary accounts under a main one), institutional, API and affiliate accounts are excluded. This is about your own account type.
- Stablecoin trades don’t count. A trade such as USDC to USDT doesn’t add to Rewards Hub volume.
- One event at a time. The November 2024 FAQ says joining another activity during the beginner period forfeits the beginner rewards. Check this before you join an invite event.
- No UK residents. The same FAQ excludes UK residents from beginner tasks, events and contests.
Gate’s Rewards Hub rules say new users “can claim a newbie package worth over 10,000 USDT”. Most of that figure is a ladder of deposit and trading challenges, paying up to 10,000 USDT within 15 days. On 1 October 2026, the task panel showed the ladder going up to 15,000 USDT.
Its first rung needed a net deposit (deposits minus withdrawals) of 200 USDT and 6,000 USDT of trading, for 10 USDT. Rewards follow a 3-day review, and you must keep your deposit and volume during it (November 2024 FAQ).

Is there a Gate.io promo code, no-deposit bonus or free 10,000 USDT?
The Gate pages we checked describe no code that pays cash, and no free 10,000 USDT. The closest thing to a no-deposit bonus is up to 75 USDT in Welcome Package vouchers for three tasks that need no deposit. A “Gate.io promo code” is usually a referral code under another name.
Those three tasks are signing up, identity verification and the app download. The other two need a 50 USDT deposit and a 30 USDT trade. Check each voucher’s terms in your account. A trading fee rebate voucher only pays back fees, so it has value only after you deposit and trade.
The 10,000 USDT figure is a ceiling for the challenges above, not a sign-up gift. You only receive the rungs you complete.
Don’t open extra accounts to collect new-user rewards twice. The November 2024 Rewards Hub FAQ says accounts with the same identity details count as one account.

Can you add a Gate referral code after sign-up?
We found no Gate page that explains adding a referral code to an exchange account after sign-up. So treat sign-up as your only chance, and check the box before you submit.
Gate also says each user can only sign up through one referral method (Gate Super Commission rules). The Gate Card has its own rule, covered next.
If you already registered without a code, keep that account. Gate’s fee rates are the same with or without a code, and the Welcome Package doesn’t depend on a code. A second account won’t help, because Gate treats accounts with the same identity details as one.
Does the Gate Card use the same referral code?
Yes. Gate says its card referral system uses the same invitation code as the exchange, but runs separately (Gate Card help, July 2026). Rewards can be earned in both.
- Code at application only. Once you submit the card application, you can’t add, change or delete a referral code.
- Spending target. An invited cardholder must spend at least 100 USD or the equivalent within 30 days. Only transactions of at least 2 USDT count.
- Small rewards. A successful card referral pays the referrer 5 USDT and the invitee 2 USDT in cash vouchers (Gate Card announcement, August 2026).
- Card use only. Card cash vouchers only pay for card spending or top-ups. They can’t be withdrawn, exchanged or transferred.
We haven’t confirmed that card referrals pay out on LAVALAVA, so we don’t promise the card reward either.
Gate referral code not working? Common causes and fixes
Usually it’s a typo, a switched regional site or an existing referral.

If SMS codes keep failing, check your phone’s spam or blocked-sender settings, and wait a minute before you ask again. You can sign up with email instead. After sign-up, Gate Authenticator or Google Authenticator gives you codes without SMS (Gate help, November 2025).
If none of the fixes above work, contact Gate support from inside the official app or website. Never share your password or SMS code with anyone.
Codes from Reddit or a friend: which Gate code should you use?
Pick a code from a source you trust. Gate’s pages don’t rank codes, but codes can differ in two ways.
First, a referrer can share commission. Gate’s Super Commission page has a slider that splits it into “Your share” and “Friends you invited share”. So some referrers pass part of it back to you. LAVALAVA comes with no promised fee rebate. Second, an Affiliate’s code brings no invite-event reward, as explained above.
Before you use any code, run these checks:
- Never pay for a code. Referral codes are free to share.
- Ignore fixed bonus promises. Gate’s own headline figures, 135 USDT and “over 10,000 USDT”, don’t depend on a code.
- Check promised rebates in your fee history after your first trade.
- Only sign up on the real site. Type gate.com yourself. Gate’s Official Verification Channel checks whether a contact really works for Gate (Gate security zone, April 2025).
Who can’t use Gate? Restricted countries
Gate’s global platform doesn’t serve the US, the UK, Canada or 32 other places named in its User Agreement. A referral code doesn’t change this.

A CFD (contract for difference) pays an asset’s price change without owning it. - Friends at VIP 11 and above stop counting. Gate says users at VIP 11 or higher no longer generate referral commissions (Gate fee page, checked 1 October 2026). Their trades earn their inviter nothing.
- Rate changes aren’t backdated. New commission rates apply only to friends invited after a change.

Gate fees, GT deduction and safety before your first deposit
A referral code doesn’t change Gate’s fee rates. At VIP0, the base level, Gate’s spot fee is 0.1%, or 0.09% with GT Deduction (Gate fee page, checked 1 October 2026).
A maker places an order that waits in the order book, the list of waiting buy and sell orders. A taker fills an order that is already there. GT (GateToken) is Gate’s own token.

On a 1,000 USDT spot trade at VIP0, the fee is 1 USDT, or 0.9 USDT worth of GT with GT Deduction. GT’s own price moves, so holding it carries risk. Fees fall at higher VIP levels, reached by trading more or holding more GT (Gate spot fee guide, December 2024).
Proof of Reserves compares the coins an exchange holds with the coins its users deposited. Gate’s snapshot of 13 September 2026 showed a 117% ratio, about 8.2 billion dollars held against 7.0 billion of user balances (Gate Proof of Reserves, checked 1 October 2026). Some videos on this page use Gate’s earlier 19 August 2026 snapshot, which showed 127% (Gate reserve report, August 2026). Both are Gate’s own snapshots, not deposit insurance. Set these up before your first deposit:
- 2FA. Gate supports Gate Authenticator or Google Authenticator, one at a time (Gate help, November 2025).
- Anti-phishing code. Gate shows the word you choose in its genuine emails, so a fake email stands out (Gate security measures, June 2024).
- Fund password. A separate password that confirms withdrawals.
- The 24-hour pause. Changing your password, email, phone or authenticator pauses withdrawals and P2P trading for 24 hours (Gate account security guide, February 2020).
What to do next
- Check that Gate serves your country, then sign up at gate.com or in the official app and enter LAVALAVA in the referral code box before you finish.
- Complete identity and face verification, then turn on 2FA and set an anti-phishing code and a fund password before your first deposit.
- Open the Rewards Hub within 15 days of sign-up, claim each Welcome Package voucher by hand and read its terms before you trade.

Our Gate.io referral code is LAVALAVA. Type it in the referral code box when you create your Gate account, or open our sign-up link, which carries it. It records our Gate account as your referrer. It doesn’t change Gate’s fee rates, and we don’t promise any fee rebate.
Does a Gate referral code give me a bonus?
Not one we can promise. Gate’s invite events, such as Earn Voucher (friend up to 100 USDT in token vouchers), have their own tasks and don’t pay if either side is a Gate Affiliate. We have not confirmed that LAVALAVA sign-ups qualify. Some event rewards are futures bonuses, and futures are high-risk.
Do I need a referral code to get Gate’s 135 USDT Welcome Package?
