What is the MEXC referral code?
A MEXC referral code is an invite code that links a new account to the person who shared it. Ours is 12K4M5. You enter it once, in the Referral Code field on the sign-up form, and MEXC then records us as your referrer.
Two terms first. USDT is Tether, a stablecoin (a coin pegged to the US dollar). Futures are contracts that let you bet on a coin’s price going up or down without owning it. They often use leverage, which means trading with borrowed money. We explain the futures risk further down.
That link has three effects, and all of them come from MEXC’s own rules:
- We earn a commission. Standard referrers get 40% of the trading fees their friends pay, for 1,080 days from sign-up (MEXC Learn, checked 21 September 2026). This comes out of fees you pay anyway. The code does not add anything to your fees.
- You may get a Futures bonus. MEXC says both the referrer and the invitee receive Futures bonus rewards after a valid referral. To count as valid, you must deposit at least 100 USDT and trade more than 500 USDT in futures within 7 days of signing up (MEXC referral rules, July 2025).
- You can’t become a VIP. MEXC’s VIP rules say invited users cannot qualify for VIP status (VIP program update, March 2025). VIP needs 10,000,000 USDT of trading every month, so this matters only to very large traders.
What the code does not do matters just as much. It does not lower your trading fees. It does not create MEXC’s Welcome Gifts, which are a separate new-user program. And if you register from the MEXC homepage with no code or link, no referral is created at all (MEXC Learn, August 2026).

Note (1 October 2026): this video says code 12K4M5 unlocks MEXC’s New User Welcome Gifts. The Welcome Gifts are MEXC’s own new-user program, and MEXC’s published rules for them don’t mention a referral code. Go by the rules on this page.
Referral code, invite code, promo code, bonus code: what is the difference?
On MEXC, all four names point to one thing: the invite code you enter once at sign-up. This table sorts out where each name comes from.
| Term you see | What it really is | Where you use it |
|---|---|---|
| Referral code | The short code, for example 12K4M5 | Referral Code field on the sign-up form |
| Invite code / invitation code | Another name for the same code. Our sign-up link carries it as inviteCode=mexc-12K4M5 | Same field, or filled in by the link |
| Referral link | A sign-up URL with the code already inside it | Opens the form with the code filled in |
| Promo code / bonus code | Usually the same referral code, renamed by other websites | The same Referral Code field |
| Bonus / voucher | Rewards MEXC credits to your account after sign-up | Your Rewards Hub, not a sign-up field |
MEXC’s sign-up guide (April 2023) shows one code field: the referral code, tucked under a small dropdown arrow (MEXC sign-up guide). Real bonuses and vouchers appear in your Rewards Hub after you register. You don’t type them in.

How do you use MEXC referral code 12K4M5 when you sign up?
Enter 12K4M5 in the Referral Code field before you tap to create the account. Only step 4 involves the code. Creating the account takes a few minutes, and the KYC review can take up to 24 hours.
- Open the official MEXC app or website. Type mexc.com yourself, or install the app from Google Play or the App Store. The official developer name in app stores is MEXC Fintech, Inc. (MEXC app download).
- Tap Sign Up. Use an email address or a mobile number. MEXC also lets you sign up with a Google, Apple or Telegram account.
- Create a strong password. MEXC requires at least 10 characters, with uppercase and lowercase letters, numbers and symbols (MEXC security guide, December 2025).
- Open the Referral Code field and enter 12K4M5. Tap the dropdown arrow next to Referral Code if the box is hidden. If you opened our sign-up link, the code is already filled in. If the form won’t accept the typed code, start again from our sign-up link.
- Create the account. MEXC sends a verification code to your email or phone.
- Complete identity verification (KYC). KYC is the identity check exchanges run before you can withdraw. MEXC requires it for withdrawals and usually finishes the review within 24 hours (MEXC KYC guide, April 2026).
- Open the Rewards Hub before you start any task. MEXC says you must visit it first to register for rewards (Rewards Hub).

What do you actually get with a MEXC referral code?
The code can bring you one thing: MEXC’s referral Futures bonus. MEXC gives it to both sides after a valid referral, and the conditions are strict.
| Condition | MEXC’s rule |
|---|---|
| Deposit | At least 100 USDT within 7 days of sign-up. On-chain deposits (crypto sent to MEXC over a blockchain), fiat, card purchases, P2P and third-party payments count. Internal transfers and gifts don’t |
| Futures trading | More than 500 USDT of futures volume within the same 7 days. MEXC counts the full position size, including leverage |
| What you receive | A Futures bonus. The page does not state a fixed amount |
| Can you withdraw it? | No. Only the profits you make with it can be withdrawn |
Source: MEXC referral rules (July 2025) and MEXC Learn, checked 21 September 2026. P2P means buying crypto directly from another user, with MEXC holding the coins until payment clears. MEXC doesn’t say whether trades on 0-fee pairs count toward the 500 USDT, although it excludes them from Welcome task volume. MEXC also says users where local law bans derivatives trading may not be eligible for futures rewards, and futures are derivatives (Rewards Hub rules).
Look closely at the second condition. You only qualify if you trade futures, and futures are risky. Leverage makes losses bigger too: a small price move can trigger liquidation, which means MEXC closes your position and the money in it is gone. Don’t open a futures position just to earn a bonus.
Here is what the code does not give you:
- No fee discount. You pay MEXC’s standard fees, shown in the fees section below.
- No Welcome Gifts. Those are MEXC’s own new-user tasks, and MEXC’s published rules for them don’t mention a referral code.
- No VIP status later. Invited users can’t qualify, as noted above.
So should you use a code? If you plan to trade futures anyway and can meet both conditions, a code adds the referral bonus. If you only want to buy and hold coins, the code adds nothing for you. Using 12K4M5 then simply supports this site. It adds nothing to your fees. The trade-offs are the VIP rule above and any fee rebate another code might share with you, as explained further down.

MEXC welcome bonus: how the Welcome Gifts of up to 10,000 USDT work
The MEXC welcome bonus is a set of new-user tasks worth up to 10,000 USDT in total. It is paid as Futures bonuses, copy trade bonuses and fee vouchers, not as cash. MEXC raised the ceiling from 8,000 USDT in August 2025 (MEXC announcement, 19 August 2025, checked 21 September 2026).
“Up to” is the total across every task. You only receive the rewards for the tasks you actually complete. These rules decide what you get:
- Tasks live in the Rewards Hub. Visit it before you start. Task progress can take up to 30 minutes to update (Rewards Hub rules).
- Some tasks need Advanced KYC. That is the higher verification level, with an ID document plus a face scan.
- Deposits must stay in your account. A deposit task sets a holding period. If a withdrawal drops your balance below the minimum during that time, the task is void.
- Only futures trades with a fee count. Zero-fee trades (pairs in MEXC’s 0-fee program) and stablecoin futures such as USDCUSDT don’t count toward volume.
- Rewards are reviewed. MEXC runs a risk review that can take up to 7 calendar days before a reward appears under My Rewards.
- One new-user event at a time. You can’t join two new-user campaigns at once.
- Some regions can’t get futures rewards. Where local law bans derivatives trading, MEXC says users may not be eligible for futures-related rewards (Rewards Hub rules).
The three reward types, and what each one is worth to you
None of these rewards is withdrawable cash. Each one only works inside futures trading.
| Reward | What you can use it for | Can you withdraw it? | Valid for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Futures bonus | Margin (the money that backs a futures position), trading fees, funding fees and losses | No, only the profits | 15 days |
| Copy trade bonus | Copy trading only, which means automatically copying another trader’s futures positions | No, only the profits | Set on each bonus |
| Fee voucher | Futures trading fees only | No | 15 days |
Sources: Welcome Gifts rules (August 2025) and copy trade bonus rules (July 2025). A funding fee is a small payment exchanged at set times between traders betting the price goes up (long) and traders betting it goes down (short).
In practice, MEXC uses the bonus as margin when the USDT in your Futures account isn’t enough. It can also cover trading fees, funding fees and realized losses (losses on positions you have closed). You keep any profit. The bonus only works on USDT-margined futures (contracts backed by USDT), not on USDC-margined or coin-margined ones (MEXC futures bonus rules, March 2026).
In this video
YouTube titles are written for search. The Welcome Gifts come from MEXC, not from the code.
Is there a free MEXC sign-up bonus or a free bonus code?
No code gives you free, withdrawable USDT on MEXC. The Welcome Gifts are task-based and paid as Futures bonuses, copy trade bonuses and fee vouchers, as shown above. None of them is free USDT you can withdraw straight away.
If a page promises “free 1,000 USDT” for a code, compare it with MEXC’s own rules. The only large new-user figure MEXC publishes is the Welcome Gifts ceiling of 10,000 USDT. That ceiling covers all tasks, and the tasks involve deposits plus futures or copy trading. A code typed at sign-up does not raise it.
Don’t open extra accounts to collect rewards twice, either. MEXC’s User Agreement allows at most two accounts per person and bans bulk sign-ups made to get extra benefits (MEXC User Agreement, May 2025 version).
Can you add a MEXC referral code after registration?
Yes, if your account is less than 30 days old. MEXC offers self-service referrer linking with these rules (MEXC linking guide, updated April 2026):
- The account was registered within the past 30 days.
- It is a main account, not a sub-account (a secondary account created under your main one).
- You enter the referrer’s referral code or UID. The UID is the user ID number MEXC gives every account.
- The referrer registered before you did.
- Your account does not share identity information with the referrer’s account.
- Once linked, the referrer can’t be changed.
MEXC extended this window from 72 hours to 30 days. Older guides online still quote 72 hours.
Linking late has one catch. The valid-invitee clock starts when you sign up, not when you link. So if you link on day 10, you’ve already missed the 7-day window for the referral Futures bonus. If you want that bonus, add the code at sign-up.
MEXC referral code not working? Common causes and fixes
Usually it’s a typo, an account that’s too old, or an existing referrer. This table covers the common cases.
| What you see | Likely cause | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Code rejected | A typo or an extra space | Retype 12K4M5: the digits 1, 2, 4 and 5 with capital K and M. Or use our sign-up link |
| No referral field | It’s folded under a dropdown arrow | Tap the arrow next to Referral Code |
| Can’t link after sign-up | More than 30 days have passed, or it’s a sub-account | The code can’t be added to this account |
| Linking refused | You already have a referrer, the referrer joined after you, or your identity details match theirs | MEXC doesn’t allow the link |
| No referral Futures bonus | Deposit under 100 USDT (internal transfers and gifts don’t count), futures volume under 500 USDT within 7 days, a risk review still running, or a region where derivatives are banned | Check the conditions above and wait up to 7 days for the review |
| Welcome task not counting | You didn’t open the Rewards Hub before starting the task, progress hasn’t updated yet (up to 30 minutes), zero-fee or stablecoin futures trades, internal transfers, or a withdrawal during a holding period | Refresh after 30 minutes, then check that task’s rules in the Rewards Hub |
If none of these fit, contact MEXC support from inside the official app or website. Never share your password or 2FA code with anyone who claims to be support.
Codes from Reddit or a friend: which one should you use?
Most MEXC codes give you the same deal, so pick one from a source you trust. The valid-invitee conditions and the VIP restriction are the same for every code, and so is the Welcome Gifts program.
One thing can differ. Some codes belong to MEXC Affiliates, who can earn up to 70% commission instead of 40% (MEXC referral help, June 2026). MEXC lets affiliates set a commission sharing ratio, so some codes pass part of that commission back to you as a fee rebate (MEXC announcement, 27 September 2024). 12K4M5 comes with no promised fee rebate. If a rebate matters to you, choose a code whose owner states the rebate in writing.
Whoever’s code you pick, run these checks first:
- Never pay for a code. Referral codes are free to share.
- Ignore fixed bonus promises. A post that promises a set amount for its code is usually quoting the Welcome Gifts ceiling.
- Check promised rebates. If a code promises a fee discount, check it in your fee history after your first trade.
- Only sign up on the real site. MEXC’s User Agreement bans phishing websites that carry referral links (MEXC User Agreement, May 2025 version).
- Choose once. A linked referrer can’t be changed later.
Who can’t use MEXC? Restricted countries and app availability
MEXC does not accept users from its prohibited list, which includes the United States, the United Kingdom and Canada. A referral code doesn’t change this.
| Region | Can you use MEXC? | Source |
|---|---|---|
| United States, United Kingdom, Canada | No, MEXC doesn’t serve residents | MEXC restricted countries, April 2026 |
| Mainland China, Hong Kong, Singapore | No | Same page |
| North Korea, Cuba, Sudan, Iran, and any territory under full economic or trade sanctions | No | Same page and the MEXC User Agreement |
| Russian-controlled regions of Ukraine: Crimea, Donetsk, Luhansk, Zaporizhzhia, Kherson, Sevastopol | No | Same page |
| Malaysia, Kazakhstan | No, according to MEXC’s User Agreement. The April 2026 list leaves them out, so treat them as not allowed until MEXC says otherwise | MEXC User Agreement, May 2025 version |
| Japan | Not on the prohibited list, but the app isn’t in Japanese app stores and MEXC says verification and features are stricter there. Check your local rules first | MEXC KYC guide, April 2026 |
| European Union | Not on MEXC’s prohibited list, but MEXC has no licence under MiCA, the EU’s Markets in Crypto-Assets rules, so MiCA’s customer protections don’t apply. ESMA, the EU markets regulator, lists it as non-compliant after a September 2025 decision by the Dutch regulator AFM. MEXC also says EU residents face stricter checks and fewer features | MEXC Learn: crypto loans, August 2026, and MEXC KYC guide, April 2026 |
The app has its own limits. The iOS app isn’t available in India, Japan, South Korea or the UK. The Android app isn’t available in India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea or the UK. MEXC says you can use its website in a browser if you can’t install the app (MEXC app download). MEXC doesn’t explain why the app is missing in these countries, so check your local rules first.
How the MEXC referral program pays referrers
MEXC pays referrers a share of their friends’ trading fees for 1,080 days. This section is for readers who want to invite others.
- Standard users earn 40% of referred friends’ trading fees, and up to 50% in certain regions (MEXC Learn, checked 21 September 2026). MEXC Affiliates can earn up to 70% (MEXC referral help, June 2026).
- Commission is paid the day after your friend trades. It arrives in your Spot account (the regular market where you buy and sell coins outright), in the same crypto your friend used to pay fees.
- Fees paid with Futures bonuses, deposit and withdrawal fees, and abnormal trading don’t earn commission.
- There is no cap on how many people you can invite.
The base commission covers spot, futures, DEX+ (MEXC’s on-chain trading) and prediction markets. MEXC also ranks referrers in three tiers. Upgrades happen automatically once you meet the conditions. MEXC assesses tiers every two months, and your results in one cycle set your tier for the next (MEXC Learn, checked 21 September 2026).
| Tier | How you reach it | What it adds |
|---|---|---|
| Rising Ambassador | Default for every MEXC user | Base commission |
| Elite Ambassador | 1 to 4 valid referrals, with their futures volume between 100 and 10,000 USDT | Access to referral events |
| Champion Ambassador | 5 or more valid referrals, with their futures volume at 10,000 USDT or more | An extra 5% trading fee rebate, plus Lucky Spins |
MEXC’s Learn guide breaks its “up to 5,320 USDT” figure into three parts: 320 USDT from Invite & Earn, 2,500 USDT from referral events and 2,500 USDT from Lucky Spins. MEXC’s invite page has shown 5,360 USDT, so the total changes with its campaigns. All of these are reward campaigns for referrers, not for new users.
Where to find your own MEXC referral code
In the MEXC app, tap the profile icon, then Referral. You can copy your Referral Code or Referral Link there, or pick a ready-made share template (MEXC invite guide, June 2026). Every account starts at the Rising tier, so you don’t need to apply.
MEXC fees and safety settings before your first deposit
A referral code doesn’t change what you pay. These are MEXC’s standard rates (MEXC fee guide, February 2026, checked September 2026). MEXC notes that rates can vary with promotions or your region (MEXC fee page).
| Fee | Standard rate | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Spot maker / taker | 0% / 0.05% | A maker adds an order to the order book, the list of waiting buy and sell orders; a taker fills an existing order |
| Spot taker with MX deduction | 0.04% | MX is MEXC’s own token, used to pay fees |
| Futures maker / taker | 0.01% / 0.04% | 0.008% / 0.032% with MX deduction |
| Futures on 0-fee pairs | 0% / 0% | Selected pairs only; API, institutional and market-maker accounts are excluded (MEXC 0-fee page). These trades don’t count toward Welcome task volume |
| Crypto deposit | Free | The sending wallet or exchange may still charge |
| Crypto withdrawal | Network fee | Set by the blockchain, and free to another MEXC user |
MEXC suspended its MX Holder Discount, a 50% fee cut for holding 500 MX or more, from 9 February 2026 (MEXC announcement). Older guides still mention it.
For safety, set these up before your first deposit (MEXC security guide, April 2026):
- Turn on 2FA. Two-factor authentication asks for a second code when you log in. MEXC supports Google Authenticator, email and SMS.
- Set an anti-phishing code. MEXC then shows your own chosen code in its genuine emails, so a fake email stands out.
- Use a withdrawal whitelist. Withdrawals can then go only to addresses you saved.
- Expect a 24-hour lock. After you change your password, MEXC blocks withdrawals for 24 hours.
MEXC has published Proof of Reserves since 22 February 2023. That is a report showing the exchange holds at least as much of each coin as its users deposited. In July 2026 it reported reserve ratios of 269.35% for BTC, 118.14% for ETH, 113.95% for USDT and 125.41% for USDC. A 113.95% ratio means 113.95 USDT held for every 100 USDT owed to users (MEXC report, 16 July 2026). It also runs a 100 million dollar Guardian Fund, a reserve it says covers user losses caused by platform problems (MEXC Proof of Trust). Both are MEXC’s own figures and funds, not government deposit insurance.
What to do next
- Create your account from the official MEXC app or website and enter 12K4M5 in the Referral Code field before you finish sign-up.
- Complete KYC, then turn on 2FA, set an anti-phishing code and add a withdrawal whitelist.
- Visit the Rewards Hub before you start any task, and read each reward’s rules and expiry date before you trade.

Frequently asked questions
What is the MEXC referral code for 2026?
Our MEXC referral code is 12K4M5. Enter it in the Referral Code field on the MEXC sign-up form, or open our sign-up link, which fills it in. It links your account to us as your referrer. It does not lower your trading fees.
Does a MEXC referral code give me a bonus?
Yes, if you become a valid invitee. Deposit at least 100 USDT and trade over 500 USDT of futures within 7 days of sign-up. MEXC then gives you and your referrer a Futures bonus of an unpublished amount. Only profits made with it can be withdrawn. Futures are high-risk, and some regions are excluded.
Do I need a referral code to get the MEXC welcome bonus?
No. MEXC’s published Welcome Gifts rules don’t mention a referral code, and a code doesn’t grant them. The Welcome Gifts are MEXC’s own new-user tasks, worth up to 10,000 USDT in total and paid as bonuses and vouchers. They appear in the Rewards Hub, and some tasks need Advanced KYC.
Can I add a referral code on MEXC after registration?
Yes, within 30 days of registering, from a main account. Enter the referrer’s code or UID through MEXC’s self-service linking. The referrer must have signed up before you, and a linked referrer can’t be changed. The 7-day bonus window still counts from sign-up.
Can I withdraw a MEXC Futures bonus?
No. A Futures bonus can only be used for futures trading and expires after its validity period. Profits made with it can be withdrawn. If you withdraw anything from your Futures wallet before the bonus is used up, MEXC takes back the rest of it.
Does using a referral code affect MEXC VIP status?
Yes. MEXC’s VIP rules say invited users can’t qualify for VIP status. VIP needs 10,000,000 USDT of trading volume each month, so this only matters to very large traders.
Can US or UK residents use a MEXC referral code?
No. MEXC doesn’t serve residents of the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada and other places on its prohibited list, so a code doesn’t help there. Don’t use a VPN or someone else’s documents to get around it.
Every MEXC rule and number in this guide comes from MEXC’s own pages, linked where it appears. The two rules most likely to change, the referral Futures bonus and the Welcome Gifts, were re-checked on MEXC’s site on 21 September 2026.
